At 19 years old, she released Here, her first single. It received a lot of praise both from listeners and critics. The song reached the top spot at 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's most memorable Songs. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third single, Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five tracks that made it to the top spot on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. The track is special because, based on the interview with Rap-Up that she gave many of her listeners were able to relate to her experience in discovering their own love while battling with her. Cara's music is known for her messages of love, self-love and mental health. The music of Cara is directly from her battle with mental illness and insomnia. In an interview with Reuters the magazine, she stated that her album is "half chaotic" as well as "half done". Her growth was aided by therapy and urges her fans to seek help if necessary. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th July 1996. The parents of her gave her an instrument when she was just 10 years old. This ignited her love for music. A few years later, at 13 years old, she started to cover her favourite songs via YouTube which is a huge media platform for the world to showcase that she was gifted and determination to develop into an artist. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather eventually got noticed by a record company called EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create her songs.
