Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a quiet community located on the part of Montreal known as"the West Island. People unfamiliar with the term often think that it's a separate island somewhere in the west of Montreal However, in reality the West Island is home to everything from Lachine west to the Lachine city. Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. But this isn't the truth. Brugel was raised in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. She aspired to be professional, however due to a rapid increase in her height, she outgrew every dance partner she met. In an article published in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. As soon as I outgrew my male counterparts and stopped dancing, I quit. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the instance of Brugel, it was an urging from her teacher in drama. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to pursue a role for the annual school production. It was her choice to take on the principal character of Anne of Green Gables after she auditioned for. It led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Over the past 20 years that followed, Brugel has landed roles on over 60 shows on small and big screens, attracting the greatest attention when she landed the role in the role of Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the character Rita in the Handmaid's Tale the series filmed over ten years ago.
