DMX began to rap in the latter part of the 1990s. He released his debut It's Hot as well as Hell is DARK on May 19, 1998. Through the years, he has released several other albums including ... And then There Was X and And Then There Was X, Great Depression Year of the Dog... And Again The Redemption of the Beast Grand Champ and Flesh of My Flesh Blood of My Blood. The album, titled...And then was X was nominated by The Grammy award for Best Rap Album in 2001. The success of his music was further enhanced by appearances in films as Lords of the Street Belly Top Five - Exit Wounded, Never Die Alone - The Bleeding Romeo MUST Die Backstage - Beyond the Law Lockjaw - Rise of the Kulev Serpent and Fast and Fierce Death Race.
